Naked Nutrition Naked Pea Protein | Review


I've tried several vegan proteins over the last decade and always enjoy trying new brands. I wasn't a regular protein shake drinker at first, however in recent years, I've come to appreciate including it more regularly post-workout and after physiotherapy to help with muscle recovery and protein intake. My latest discovery is Naked Pea Protein Powder from the brand Naked Nutrition, and I've been enjoying it for the past few weeks.


I don't know about you, but I had never tried a pea protein powder before. After reading up on the Naked Nutrition Pea Protein Powder, I was immediately impressed by the ingredient list: yellow pea protein, that's it! No added sweeteners, unnatural additives or preservatives... awesome, right? This protein powder offers 27g of protein per serving (2 scoops, 30g) and only 120 calories. It is easily absorbed by the body, making it an excellent plant-based alternative to whey protein. Adding pea protein to your diet is great to boost protein intake on a plant-based diet, as adequate protein intake is vital to boost metabolism, promote fat burning, and overall health.


Naked Pea is made exclusively from raw yellow split peas grown in the US and Canada to ensure the highest quality, as well as to promote farming practices that are sustainable and earth-friendly. It is mechanically extracted from yellow split peas without the use of chemicals. This results in a superior amino acid profile, beneficial for muscle growth and post-workout recovery. Along with a superior amino acid profile, pea protein is easily digested, making it an excellent alternative to whey protein for those looking to gain muscle on a plant-based diet. Similar to whey, pea protein can support muscle maintenance and increase satiety. I got the unflavoured version, which makes it perfect to combine with different flavoured beverages such as coconut water or non-dairy milk or blend it with your favourite fruits, vegetables, and superfoods. The brand recommends using either a shaker bottle or a blender for a smooth texture. Simply add two rounded scoops of
Naked Pea to 6-10 oz of liquid. If using a shaker bottle, shake for 25-30 seconds. If using a blender, blend for 20-30 seconds.

You can also incorporate this vegan pea protein powder while cooking and baking, such as in pancakes and muffins. Pea protein powder is very heat stable, which means it maintains the same nutrients even after being heated to a high temperature. If the protein is exposed to extremely high temperatures for a long time, this may result in the pea protein taking longer to absorb into the body, but the nutrition remains intact.

  16. This is an excellent source of protein! I am dairy free, so can not use any protein with milk. I turn to vegan protein shakes because of this. Pea protein tastes great-enjoy!
