I am one of those people who loves trying out new hair care products and I am always overjoyed when I come across a vegan and cruelty-free brand that delivers on all fronts. I've read amazing things about Vegamour* over the years and I am beyond excited to have gotten my hands on some of their hair care products and to share my thoughts with you! I received the Gro Revitalizing Shampoo, Gro Revitalizing Conditioner, Gro Scalp Detoxifying Serum and the Enso Overnight Restoring Mask and have been testing them out over the last few weeks. Without further ado, let's dive into it, shall we?
The Gro Revitalizing Shampoo is the first step to getting my hair looking and feeling fresh. Derived from natural ingredients including mung bean, curcumin, red clover, marula oil, baobab oil and ximenia oil and combined with modern technology, the ingredients work together to be truly effective while avoiding harmful toxins and being safe to use on colour-treated hair. It is formulated with Karmatin™, Vegamour's vegan version of silk keratin, which, unlike its animal-derived counterpart, does not rinse away for long-term protection. Having just received a professional keratin treatment at a salon last month, this is a great line for me to use post-appointment as it is sulfate-free and is perfect to incorporate into my weekly hair washing routine. The whole Gro line has a lovely bergamot scent that lingers long after washing which I absolutely love!
The Gro Revitalizing Conditioner follows right after. As with the shampoo, this silicone-free formula activates in just 30 seconds to release the active ingredients into your strands. Murumuru oil and marula oil are just some of the effective extracts it includes. The Karmatin™ protein helps smoothen the hair and absorb excess dirt and oils, and helps restore health following damage from colour-treatment or heat exposure while also protecting your strands from salt and chlorine water. It is great for all hair types and textures as it is gentle and does not weigh your hair down. I love how silky my hair feels after using this product and how it leaves the frizz at bay. A little amount goes a long way too, and I make sure to only apply from ear level down.
My scalp can always use some extra love and the Gro Scalp Detoxifying Serum is what I've been reaching for to give my roots extra nourishment. It once again contains vegan silk protein along with phyto-actives and minerals to help get rid of scalp buildup. With the cold we've had I find this has also helped with dryness and itchiness and has been shown to visibly reduce dandruff while also decreasing the production of sebum. It contains willowherb extract, caffeine and vitamin E, among other nourishing ingredients. I've been using this serum once a week by massaging the product in for a couple of minutes on my dry scalp in sections and giving it a good 5-10 minutes to soak in before following up with shampoo and conditioner and have been loving how moisturized and clean my scalp feels afterwards!
The other weekly treatment I have been enjoying is the Enso Overnight Restoring Mask which is great for dry and damaged hair. I can't remember having tried an overnight hair treatment before but I definitely think it is worth the extra time and effort. It is recommended to leave the mask in for at least 10 hours, and you will need to rinse it out after. I only need a small amount to coat my hair from root to tip. I find that my hair feels stronger and shinier and it helps control pesky flyaways and smells amazing with its blend of jasmine, ylang ylang and yuzu, which offers aromatherapy to boost your mood and reduce anxiety. It is an amazing product to bring your hair back to life when it needs some TLC!
And there you have it, Vegamour is a big win in my books. Will you be giving Vegamour products a try?
