I recently experienced one of those "pinch me" moments when this adorable pink box filled with the entire Charlotte Tilbury Pillow Talk Collection landed on my doorstep. I am such a big fan of both the makeup artist and the amazing cosmetics line she has built, having tried quite a few of her products over the years. Surprisingly though, I had never tried the ever so popular Pillow Talk lipstick, one (if not the) most sold lipstick shade in the world. I saw on social media that Charlotte Tilbury was expanding her line to include not only deeper shades in the existing lipstick, lip liner and blusher but was also adding a bunch more Pillow Talk products to her range, such as an eyeshadow palette, highlighters and eyeliner. I was super stoked to put the new Pillow Talk products to work, and I figured it would be great to not only show you what's new but also have you see in action how these apply in my latest video, too!
As can be expected, the packaging is stunning - it has a nice weight to it and the gold finish makes it feel very luxurious. Some of the products are lightly fragranced - notably, the Pillow Talk lipstick, having a light vanilla scent. The original Pillow Talk shade, a flattering nude on many skin tones, now has two new shades you will find across the expanded collection appropriately named Pillow Talk Medium and Pillow Talk Intense.
The NEW Cheek to Chic Blush in Pillow Talk Intense* joins the original Pillow Talk blusher which you might already be familiar with. Described as a deep rosy-pink, and using a swish and pop motion, you will achieve pigmented yet blendable cheek definition with this new addition. As you see in the video, I recommend going with a light hand and taking your time to blend it out as it can appear a bit harsh at first if you have a lighter skin tone like me. It provides a light and luminous glow, and the colour can be easily deepened for more intensity if desired. I like that the compact also comes with a handy mirror!
To add even more glow to the cheek area, the NEW Beauty Light Wand in Pillow Talk and Pillow Talk Medium (both shades coming out later this month!) will have you shining like a star! As I opted for the medium shade in the blush, I reached for the Beauty Light Wand in Pillow Talk Medium* as well for a cohesive look. At first, I was worried I could not pull the darker colour off as the product comes out quite dark out of the tube but the key is to use a dabbing motion on the cheekbones and again make sure to evenly spread it out with a brush or your fingertips. The sponge applicator is handy to dispense just enough product to provide that added glow. The formula is also non-greasy and hydrating and it contains lindera extract and silica to achieve that smooth texture and reflection.
I absolutely loved the Starry Eyes To Hypnotize Instant Eye Palette which I've previously shared on the blog, so I was so thrilled to see that the NEW Instant Eye Palette in Pillow Talk* has now graced the makeup world with its 12 beautiful and high performance shades, for day, desk, date and dream-inspired looks! I can't begin to explain how amazing this eyeshadow palette is - I love that you can create such a variety of looks and these shadows last and apply like a dream. For this makeup look, I went for the far-right pink-toned trio called Dream, first priming with the shimmery rosy pink, then enhancing with the sparkling sunset pink and finally smoking with the blushed berry rose.
Another NEW addition is the Pillow Talk Eyeliner*, described as a matte smokey berry-brown. It reminds me of an eggplant coloured eyeliner I used back in my teenage years, and I am here for it! The formula is just the right amount of creamy not to drag on the skin or smudge throughout the day but can also easily be smoked out with a brush to intensify your eye look. It would work so well with different colour combinations, and I love how it brought the below eye look together.
Nothing completes a makeup look like defined lips. I am not big on lip liner but the NEW Lip Cheat in Pillow Talk Medium*, a warm berry-pink, may just have converted me! I use it not so much to overdraw my lips but to define the outer edges of my natural lip shape. You can even use this lip liner on its own by applying it all over - it has decent staying power with very minimal transfer! On top of the original Pillow Talk shade, Lip Cheat now also comes in Pillow Talk Intense, a deep tawny-brown.
I absolutely love the Matte Revolution Lipsticks because not only are they moisturizing and smell yummy but they also come in beautiful shades, some of which I have featured in the past. The NEW Matte Revolution Lipstick in Pillow Talk Medium*, a warm berry-pink is not only long-lasting and ultra-moisturizing with the addition of triglycerides and a blend of oils and waxes to achieve a smooth glide but it is also extremely pigmented - just one swipe delivers excellent colour payoff.
I came across a review of the NEW Collagen Lip Bath in Pillow Talk* and was immediately smitten not only by the beautiful shade but also by the adorable heart-shaped applicator. The name alone made me want to drench my lips in the stuff! Made from mustard sprout extract, marine collagen, vitamin A, coconut oil, marula oil, peppermint oil and with the addition of pearlescent pigments and menthol crystals, your lips with be looking plump and feeling fresh with this nude pink boost of shine!
