Renpure Tea Tree Lemon Sage & Restorative Hemp Oil Hair Care | Review
I've been on a new hair care kick for the last few months (catch my last feature here!), and one brand that I wanted to take the time to share with you is Renpure. I had heard of this company in the last few years, but it isn't until recently that I discovered that it is available in drugstores in Canada. What immediately drew me to this brand is that all of their products are plant-based and gluten-free, made with natural ingredients and void of harmful toxins such as dyes, sulfates, parabens, phtalates and formaldehyde. I personally love trying out new shampoos and conditioners, so I was looking forward to seeing just how well Renpure's Tea Tree Lemon Sage* and Restorative Hemp Oil* hair washing duos perform.
I put the Tea Tree Lemon Sage Refreshing Shampoo and Conditioner to the test first because 1) I'm a sucker for anything green and 2) the scent is actually incredible (spoiler alert: my fave of the two). I absolutely love tea tree in my skincare, but can't recall ever using hair products containing it. I'm not the biggest tea tree scent lover, but it is barely detectable as the citrus extract comes through most, as does eucalyptus and peppermint. Despite being sulfate-free, the shampoo provides a light lather and spreads nicely with just a small amount. I've been more conscious about how much product I use too, only focusing the shampoo on my roots and letting it disperse to the rest of my hair only upon rinsing. The cream conditioner also goes a long way, and I noticed has really helped tame the frizz. I like leaving it on for over five minutes for my strands to soak in all the benefits. I love the aromatherapy this duo provides to, it really leaves you feeling invigorated!
The next set I got to try is the Restorative Hemp Oil Moisture Therapy Shampoo and Conditioner. As with the above products, these come in big 473 mL or 16 fl oz bottles, which makes them great to share with the entire family! The coconut scent comes through the most, with other notable ingredients including rapeseed oil and citric acid. The shampoo works great at removing buildup and being packed full of fatty acids, really gets deep to bring nourishment and shine to the hair. The formula provides a gentle lather once again, and one application is sufficient to leave my hair feeling clean. The conditioner I have noticed has really helped keep my hair detangled, an issue I deal with on a regular basis. I've been washing my hair every 2-3 days, and I can still smell the product in my hair in between washes, which is pretty awesome for someone like me who does not use too many styling products.
Renpure is available in stores in Canada at Shoppers Drug Mart and on Well.ca. In the U.S., you can find their products at Target and Walmart.
