K-beauty has gained a lot of popularity in the Western world in recent years, and I for one have definitely been sucked into trying various brands out and even showcased some here on the blog throughout the years. The latest brand to have caught my attention is PURITO*. What makes them stand out from the rest, you ask? Not only are they cruelty-free, but they are also conscious and honest about the ingredients that go into their products, which are all EWG Verified, meaning they were tested for their overall hazard to the human body and were deemed as safe. The name PURITO is a fusion of the words "purify" and "to", which stands for soil. Thus, their ideology is based on ensuring that you are only exposed to the cleanest ingredients that come from the earth.
I've been testing out a handful of their products in the last few weeks, and the first one I wanted to share with you is the Centella Green Level Buffet Serum*. They pretty much hit the nail on the head with the name, as it's basically a generous offering of "food for your skin." Serums are something I didn't think I needed until I actually gave them a chance and this one from PURITO rates pretty high up there for me, and definitely figures in my top five.
This water-based, nutrient-rich serum contains a blend of acids and peptides, including 49% Centella Asiatica extract, or Asiatic pennywort extract, which includes Asiaticoside, Asiatic acid and Madecassic acid, as well as hyaluronic acid, collagen and ceramide. It is also formulated with a Palmitoyl Peptide Complex to protect and reinforce your skin barrier from environmental aggressors as well as 3% Niacinamide. Its invigorating and fresh botanical scent comes from a blend of camellia leaf extract, bergamot fruit oil and lavender oil.
The texture is watery yet has a slight gel-like feel to it and does not feel sticky whatsoever. It feels super hydrating and my dry winter skin has been drinking it up in seconds. Since serums contain a higher concentration of active ingredients, that means a little goes a long way and you get more bang for your buck, with the ingredients penetrating the skin faster and more effectively, and since the formula is alcohol-free, your skin will be moisturized longer since it does not evaporate. It also has anti-inflammatory, anti-wrinkle, and whitening properties, while also stimulating collagen production and reducing pigmentation. This serum is great for all skin types, including sensitive skin and what I especially appreciate is that it is one of the most affordable clean serums I have come across!
If you are someone who likes skincare products that offer a weightless feel and stray away from oily skin bases, the Centella Green Level Buffet Serum will be your new BFF. I've been pairing this serum with a couple of other PURITO products, which you can read more about here.
