Vital Face Care | Natural Skincare Review
It's no secret that I enjoy discovering new skincare brands, especially when they are mindful of the ingredients they include in their products. Over years of testing, I've had the chance to try out hundreds of products, and I get just as excited today as I did in my early blogging days when a new range makes its way onto my test shelf. One such brand that has recently piqued my curiosity is Vital Face Care*, a Canadian brand that has just recently launched. I was drawn to this line for a few reasons: 1) they are cruelty-free, 2) they incorporate naturally-derived and organic ingredients, and 3) from a marketing standpoint, I got sucked in with their vibrant packaging and clever product names. The true testament to their apparent greatness: are these products as amazing as they sound? Let's dive right into it, shall we?
SUCK IT UP. Bamboo Charcoal Pore Refining Cleanser
The SUCK IT UP cleanser combines a bunch of ingredients that I adore: aloe vera, MSM (which I enjoy taking internally as a supplement), lavender water, charcoal powder (known for its effectiveness at drawing out impurities), rosehip oil and tea tree oil (breakout fighter) are just a few standout ones, and the complete list of natural extracts is quite impressive. The gel cleanser itself has a purple tint when poured out of the nozzle, but the colour fades once massaged in circular motions and transforms into a light lather. The cleanser smells very fruity and uplifting, containing both orange peel and grapefruit extract, which both come through. This face wash is very gentle and non-stripping and leaves my skin feeling refreshed and thoroughly cleansed. With no nasties, you also get peace of mind that you are treating your skin to the very best.
PRIMED AND READY. Vitamin C All-in-One Toner
Citrus is my favourite scent when it comes to skin care products, and the PRIMED AND READY toner truly packs a delightful punch! I can honestly say I've never used a toner that smells this good. Rich in vitamin C, which is known for its brightening properties, boosting collagen as well as fighting free radicals, this toner will help remove any remnants of dirt your cleanser might have left behind, all while nourishing the skin and balancing its pH. Notable ingredients include witch hazel, colloidal silver (antibacterial), rosemary extract, green tea extract, wild geranium as well as dandelion extract. To use, I simply saturate a cotton round and apply on my face and neck, avoiding the eyes. What I also appreciate is that I do not experience any irritation from using it, unlike other toners I have tried. I am then ready for the next step in my routine!
KEEP 'EM GUESSING. Peptide Face & Neck Firming Lotion
I have been really enjoying the KEEP 'EM GUESSING lotion: this cream which comes in a pump dispenser is on the slightly thicker side, yet it is still easy to spread and absorbs quickly so you don't have to worry about a greasy layer being left behind. This facial lotion has a light botanical scent and once again has a generous list of ingredients such as aloe vera, sunflower oil, cocoa butter, primrose oil, avocado oil, and macadamia nut oil. It also contains hyaluronic acid which helps retain water as well as glycolic acid which helps in fading skin discolorations such as sunspots and age spots. I like to apply a thin layer in the morning and let it sink in for a couple of minutes before moving on to makeup, or applying more liberally in the evening by layering a thicker layer on.
LOOK LIVELY. Advanced Firming Eye Cream
I've been more diligent about using eye cream daily and the LOOK LIVELY cream has been a nice addition to my skincare lineup. It contains a plethora of ingredients such as plant-based retinol and hyaluronic acid, organic cranberry, cucumber, sea fennel wax and evening primrose oil - talk about some good stuff! This cream is very light and I especially like using it in the morning because it is so easy to apply, sinks in quickly, has a light scent and most importantly is non-irritating, whereas I like to go for a thicker eye cream in the evening. It's been brutally cold these last few weeks so it's been nice having a product like this one to keep my delicate eye area feeling moisturized and looking smooth.
TAKE YOUR TIME. Bio-Cell Wrinkle Defense
If you are looking for a product that specifically targets areas prone to visible signs of aging, the TAKE YOUR TIME gel helps firm the skin and restore elasticity by boosting collagen. This can be used on puffy eyes, dark circles and fine lines and wrinkles to help smooth and brighten these problem areas out. I really enjoy the cooling sensation it provides a few minutes after application, and I can also feel its tightening effect on the skin without experiencing any discomfort. It contains plant stem cells and a peptide complex as well as jojoba oil, argan oil, licorice extract and reishi extract as some of its standout ingredients. Gel products can sometimes be drying, but this one has been great and I am all about prolonging the development of deep-set facial lines, so I am glad to have this gel in my arsenal.
Overall, I am really happy with my experience incorporating Vital Face Care skincare into my routine and I think the line is definitely worth checking out! I like it when other people find new skin care products and try them out for me to see how they work. Saves me tons of time and money in the end.
ReplyDeleteMy current cleanser has a weird smell that I don't like. I need to try Vital face cleanser because I love that it has a fruity smell and that it includes no chemicals, etc.
