My hair care routine is the most low maintenance out of all my beauty routines (makeup, skincare and body care) as I very rarely style or use heat on my mane. I don't colour-treat my hair, follow a plant-based diet and take biotin supplements as well as MSM powder (more on that here), which translates into very strong, thick and healthy hair that is less prone to breakage and fallout. In the last five months, I also haven't really been reaching for conditioner since my recently installed water softener has been doing such a great job at taming frizz and keeping my locks nice and smooth! In terms of actual hair products that I use, Yves Rocher* is one of my top eco-friendly recommendations, as they have a great selection when it comes to products containing a high percentage of ingredients from botanical extracts.
I've previously talked about the I Love My Planet Radiance Shampoo, and Yves Rocher has recently come out with a Concentrated Shampoo (C$5.95, 100 mL), a mini version of the original, which once again is suitable for all hair types. The recyclable bottle is made of recycled plastic and allows for 30 shampoos! The biodegradable formula is 98% natural and void of preservatives, parabens, colourants or silicone. It has a gel-like consistency and contains ingredients such as glycerin, arginine, lemon extract and vitamin E. The fragrance is very fresh and lemony, with what I would also describe as a mix of apple and eucalyptus (though the last two aren't actually on the ingredient list). This product would be perfect to keep in your gym bag or for travelling! I actually plan on travelling with only a carry-on for my upcoming long-haul trip, and I already know this will be a must-have to save on space and weight.
Another hair wash from Yves Rocher I highly recommend is their Low Shampoo (C$5.95, 200 mL). I actually dedicated an entire video to the many benefits of this product and how it should be used! The key ingredient, organic Hawthorn extract, is an antioxidant-rich plant belonging to the rose family that helps protect and strengthen the hair follicle. Essentially, this shampoo simplifies your hair washing routine as it is the only product you need! What also distinguishes it from other commercial shampoos is that it does not foam, which can take some getting used to if you've never tried a non-lathering hair product. It's worth it though - the creamy, 99% natural formula leaves your hair feeling super clean and ultra smooth, without exposing you to known harmful chemicals such as sulfates, silicone, parabens or colourants. The eco tube is made using recycled plastic and requires 25% less plastic than the previous packaging, just like the Repair Sleeping Care.
And there you have it, my favourite hair care products from Yves Rocher! Which of these would you most like to try?

ReplyDeleteI love that this is such a low maintenance routine. Just the ticket for me. I'd be willing to try a no foaming option... I think I would have to keep reminding myself it's OK, but I could get used to it. It's probably better that way, right?
