Did you know that the Make Up For Ever Artist family recently expanded? Over the years, I've covered some of their latest additions, namely their Artist Liners, Artist Plexi-Gloss Lip Lacquers, Artist Shadows, Artist Palettes and Artist Liquid Matte Lipsticks. The new baby? The Make Up For Ever Artist Face Color* line, consisting of a selection of highlight, sculpt and blush powders. This range includes 34 stunning shades: 6 highlight shades, 10 sculpting shades and 18 blush shades that cater to a variety of skin tones, and I've got quite a few to share with you, so let's jump right into it!
The Artist Face Color powders are housed in a refillable pan, allowing you to purchase them individually or to build your own palette. You can buy the refill shades individually for C$29/US$23, or purchase them with a palette: choose a single shade for C$31/US$24, create a duo for C$44/US$35 or a trio for C$56/US$45 so that you can safely store them. The shadow names begin with either H (highlight), S (sculpt) or B (blush) - but that doesn't mean that's their sole purpose! For instance, many of the sculpt shades can double as a blush, and all make nice eyeshadows too!
Despite being in powder form, they feel buttery and creamy to the touch and blend out effortlessly. They are long-wearing and quite pigmented, but what I love is that I can even pull of wearing some the of darker and more vibrant shades despite having a light complexion by applying them with a light hand. If you like an intense look, a couple of layers will make these shadows really stand out.
Artist Face Color in H106, S300 and S116 |
Apply them together to give your face definition as well as a nice pop!
Make Up For Ever Artist Face Color in H104, S310 and S112 |
This combination is great for an everyday look!
H108 is a banana highlight powder that works well for those of you with a yellow undertone while H312 is a beautiful shimmery metallic copper with a hint of gold.
The above duo would look great on medium to dark complexions, and H312 looks absolutely stunning as an eye shadow, too!
H102 is a shimmery pearl highlight with a touch of pink, while S118 is a matte deep brown that works wonderfully as a contour on light to medium skin tones.
Again, H102 is absolutely stunning as an eyeshadow, and S118 works beautifully applied in the crease and blended out to create a smoky effect.
Left Column - Top to Bottom: B308, B208, B302, B216 Right Column - Top to Bottom: S214, B204, B500, B402 |
Last but not least, I also have some blushes to show you! Whether you prefer pink, red, or berry tones, there are plenty to choose from!
- B402 is a matte deep orange red
- B500 is a matte plum
- B308 is a matte rose
- B208 is a matte warm pink
- B302 is a shimmery peach
- B216 is a matte vibrant barbie pink
- S214 is a matte dusty rose (I wear it as a blush!)
- B204 is a matte cool-tone light pink
With a light hand, I can successfully pull off wearing the darker shades as they are buildable, which can't be said for similar dark colors I have tried in the past. They also last all day without fading.
Overall, I am super impressed with the entire Artist Face Color line, and would definitely recommend trying these out yourself!

ReplyDeleteLove all the gorgeous shades and having the pans are refillable makes so much sense, you only need to replace what you have used the most!
ReplyDeleteIt is such a great idea and you can just change it around as you want as well :)
DeleteMake up Forever blushes seem to be a good buy. I like how the blushes can double as both blush and eye shadow. I also like that although they are powdery they have a creamy feel. Powder can become stuck on eyelids thus appearing unsightly.
