Why Starting A Blog Is The Best Decision I Ever Made + 4 Year Blogiversary Giveaway!

YOU GUYS! I'm still pinching myself because I still can't believe it has already been 4, yes FOUR years since I started this little ol' blog of mine. As I shared in my ever first blog post, I really did not know the direction this blog would take. I knew I enjoyed all things beauty-related and I've mostly stuck to this niche, however overtime I have also thrown some fashion and lifestyle posts into the mix. While beauty is still the main focus of my blog, I have also developed an affinity for natural beauty in the last couple of years and love sharing my DIYs and product finds. If you follow me on Instagram and Snapchat, you also know I am quite the plant-based foodie and love sharing my meals with you!

Last year, I shared what I learned after 3 years of blogging, so if you haven't had a read yet, I would love your input because these are tips and lessons I still very much stand by. This year I thought I would share why starting a blog is the best decision I ever made (and yes, that even includes pursuing a degree). Blogging has brought so much joy to my life - in the most unusual of ways I might add. I would consider myself to be pretty shy and introverted, so getting my words out in writing comes so much more easily to me compared to saying them out loud and blogging has allowed me to put my skills to use. I never really considered myself to be a particularly creative person either, however starting my own blog has made me realize that I have this other side to me I would have never discovered otherwise.

I won't lie, it is a LOT of work. I was quite clueless about the amount of time and effort that actually goes into figuring it all out, from photography, to social media to the blogging process itself and eventually also filming and editing Youtube videos. I still don't claim to be an expert in any of these areas, but I sure have learned a lot over the years - it has been quite the journey. All I can say is that if you've ever considered starting a blog, JUST DO IT! You never know what could come from it: you might just discover your passion like I did and have opportunities you did not even know were possible. You won't know unless you try!

Can you believe typing this out actually makes me a bit emotional? I know it may sound cheesy, but blogging has really helped me in my personal life and I almost see it as a form of therapy - I forget my problems for a while and just let my thoughts flow. I hope you know how much your support means to me, without it I wouldn't be where I am today.
