Mini Target Skin Care Haul
I was at Target the other day for the sole purpose of picking up a moisturizer, and somehow ended up coming out with more than I had planned on buying. Girl problems much? As promised, I am sharing the few items that made their way into my shopping basket. I repurchased a holy grail moisturizer, and also decided to try two other skin care products which caught my eye while perusing the aisle.
The first item I bought is the Cetaphil Daily Facial Moisturizer. I have been using this product for years, and I like it so much that I've never really looked for an alternative. This moisturizer contains SPF 15, and is suitable for my sensitive skin, although it is also marketed to work on all skin types. It is oil-free (so it won't clog pores), fragrance-free and is very light, and on my skin absorbs in under 2 minutes. I apply this under my face makeup in the morning or just on its own on days when I go makeup-free. It comes with a pump dispenser which I also really like, and most importantly it is dermatologist recommended (and not just tested)!
I also picked up the Target Up & Up Cleansing Makeup Remover Cloths which I believe are meant to be a dupe for the Neutrogena wipes, although I've never tried them. They are supposed to help easily remove impurities by providing a deep cleanse, and are infused with three different teas, including chamomile, which are loaded with antioxidants. Although I rarely use makeup remover wipes, for some reason these ones looked promising and looked like good value for money (30 wipes for $4), so I decided to give them a shot.
Finally, I purchased the new (or so it says) Simple Foaming Cleanser. After having tried their Moisturizing Facial Wash and really liking it, I wanted to try something else from their range and settled on this one. It contains Vitamin B5, glycerin, chamomile and geranium, and is free of perfumes and harsh irritants. This product also comes with a pump dispenser, which is always super practical. I'm really looking forward to seeing how this products performs!
What products are you currently using in your skin care routine? Any recommendations?

Going to Target for one item is impossible. Either get nothing or get everything. There is no in-between. ;-;
ReplyDeleteHaven't tried that Cetaphil moisturizer, but I am currently enjoying one of Simple's moisturizers combined with Hydraluron! :D (Except Simple's moisturizers don't have SPF...heh)

I just bought a travel size of the Cetaphil moisturizer to try it out for my New Orleans vacation and so far I am in love with it. It really moisturizes but feels lightweight.

I'll be curious to read what you think about the Simple cleanser. I bought a bottle of CeraVe PM yesterday since it's finally available in Canada. I'd been curious about that one for a while now so we'll see how it goes. :)
ReplyDeleteI tried it last night and so far I really like it! I've been using the CeraVe Moisturizing Lotion, would love to hear how you like the PM :)
DeleteI think I am going to try that Cetaphil moisturizer. I like something that is oil free, light, and good for sensative skin. I'm using Nuertrogena which is great, but it lacks the SPF. Thanks for the review!

Ooo, will you please do a review on the Simple Foaming Cleanser? Sounds interesting!
ReplyDeleteI tried the makeup removers from the Target line a couple of years ago, but I didn't like it. I don't know, for some reason, I found them to be somewhat harsh on my skin (including the Neutrogena wipes). I hope they work for you though!
Hi Linh, so far I am really liking the cleanser! It feels really soothing :) I just tried the makeup remover wipes, and they seriously impressed me! I hope to review them both, so keep your eyes peeled :) x
DeleteThe Simple line seems like it will be really good. I got a couple of coupons and used them for the simple cleansing wipes (which I love). Up and Up products never seem to disappoint. Great haul.

I've always wanted to try Cetaphil as it's always so raved about :) xx
ReplyDeleteI've never tried the simple skincare although I hear good things about it. I recently ordered a Skyn Iceland moisturizer and hope it works out! I don't normally buy things without researching.
