MAKE UP FOR EVER Midnight Glow Gun Metal Glitter

MAKE UP FOR EVER has come out with great new products this holiday season! The Midnight Glow Holiday Collection includes stunning limited edition products such as the 8 eye shadow Midnight Glow Palette, the Aqua Rouge Waterproof Liquid Lip Color in Satin Soft Pink, Strass Jewels, and a lovely new Glitter in Gun Metal (shade N15)*. I was super excited to try this last product out as I have never done an eye look with loose glitters before.

What is really cool about these graded round glitter particles is that they are safe to use on the face, body, and even in your hair! I decided to create a shimmery eye look and am really pleased with how it turned out. I think adding glitters is such a fun way to glam up any makeup look, and of course the holiday season is a great time to turn to glitter for some added sparkle.

Gun Metal is a holographic mix of grey, silver and blue glitter particles that vary in intensity depending on the light angle. When working with loose glitters, I've learned that it's best to do your eye makeup before moving on to the rest of your face makeup as they can get a little messy. Placing a tissue under your eyes will also help to catch any fallout during application. I sprayed my brush with setting spray to pick up the glitter with ease and to give it a long-lasting effect on my eyelids. I used a greyish-blue shadow as a base which I thought would complement the glitter nicely, and I really liked the end result!

Before
After

As you can see above, I did get some fallout but I was able to easily remove it with water before applying the rest of my face makeup. I can't wait to use this product again in a few weeks on Christmas and New Year's Eve!

  9. I can't use glitter to save my life. If I would ever have to make a makeup where I have to put glitter, seriously, I would die *lol* I never understood how some girls make it seem so easy. But I do love a smokey eye makeup with just a touch of glitter.

  12. I have yet to try this on the face because I am scared of follow outs. But I guess the fallouts could be easily removed with some tape :)

  13. I like how you paired it with the greyish-blue base, very pretty combination! Good to know the glitter is safe to use around the eyes though the fallout is a tad annoying!
