Physicians Formula Mineral Wear Talc-Free Mineral Airbrushing Pressed Powder

Ever since I started wearing makeup, I just gravitated towards liquid foundations and never gave pressed powders much thought. This past summer, I finally decided to give the Laura Mercier Mineral Pressed Powder a try (reviewed here), and I was hooked at first swipe! Unfortunately at the start of fall the color I had bought became too dark for my tan-fading complexion and I was on the hunt for an alternative. I came across a video by Youtuber iheartmakeup92 on the Physicians Formula Mineral Wear Talc-Free Mineral Airbrushing Pressed Powder and the coverage it provided her was just amazing, so I decided to give it a try.

As the name implies, this product is talc-free which my skin is thanking me for. I got mine in the shade Creamy Natural, and I would say it is suitable for fair to medium skin tones. Physicians Formula claims that this mineral pressed powder lasts 16 hours and that it has a lifting and firming effect. I can vouch for its lasting power as it really stays put all day long, however it hasn't had any tightening effect on my skin. The company also claims that it visibly reduces the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles and pores, which I have noticed it does do. The powder contains soothing plant extracts, as well as antioxidants and vitamins C and E. But best of all, the coverage it provides is just incredible - if you have a lot if imperfections to cover such as acne scars or dark spots, this is a really good drugstore option! I have to build it up to get the level of coverage I prefer, and I really like that it does't cake up even though I have to apply multiple layers. I do get a little oily in the T-zone throughout the day wearing this pressed powder, but that is nothing a little blotting tissue can't help remove.

What I really like about the Physicians Formula powders is that they are designed for extra sensitive or breakout-prone skin. They are also hypoallergenic, fragrance,  gluten, and paraben free, non-comedogenic and dermatologist approved.

As with most of the Physicians Formula compacts, the packaging is quite bulky, which is an inconvenience for storage and travelling, but the quality of the product makes up for it. The compact comes with a flip-bottom mirror and a flat buffing kabuki brush.

I am really impressed with this product and look forward to try other products by Physicians Formula!

What do you prefer wearing, pressed powder or liquid foundations?

  2. I love Physicians Formula. I only use their mascara. I fell in love with it. It doesn't make my eyes itch and it wears all day. I wonder if I could use this powder because i have very sensitive skins.
