Lately I have been experimenting with various mascaras and have come to discover some great ones from the drugstore. The first one I wanted to share with you is Maybelline's Great Lash Lots of Lashes Mascara, which I got in the shade Blackest Black. I remember as a little girl seeing my mom use the original version of this mascara, and she still uses it to this day and her lashes are always super long, nicely curled and perfectly separated. Yes ladies, you've read right: this mascara has been around for a REALLY long time - according to Maybelline's website, it first hit the shelves over 40 years ago! So I said to myself: if this line of mascara is still being sold after so many years following its release, it must be amazing! And so I chose the Lots of Lashes Washable Mascara, but instead of the original that has a wand of uniform width, I got the one with the tapered brush.
The formula is just the right consistency: it isn't too runny nor too thick. If you prefer a clean mascara look, 1-2 coats will suffice. However, you can also achieve the spidery-lashes effect by adding a couple more coats of mascara. The wand makes it easy to reach the inner corner of the eye and easily lifts up those hard-to-reach lashes. It is also super convenient for the lower lash line - I find it makes application much easier contrary to other mascaras (I'm usually very clumsy when it comes to applying mascara on the lower lashes), but this mascara does the trick as I rarely have to touch up after. It truly holds a curl all-day long and really perks up the eyes :)
I definitely recommend this mascara to those of you who haven't tried it yet. It's one of the cheapest on the market, and the quality is outstanding! In Canada, this mascara sells anywhere between $3.99-$6.99. It often goes on sale so that's also a plus!
Have you tried this mascara? :)
This didn't work for me :-( but I remember my aunt using it too when I was younger :-)
ReplyDeleteI really like this mascara it creates lovely lashes x
ReplyDeleteGreat Lash original was my first ever mascara, and I kept it for nostalgic reasons for ages after it dried up. For weird reasons, I had to refresh your blog a million times before it would let me comment :S
ReplyDeleteI remember this from like before high school days! I need to go back to it and re-try:)
ReplyDeleteI had the blue version of this in my hand the other day, I am thinking about rockin' the blue lashes for summer!!
