Nail of the Day: Essie 'To Buy or Not to Buy'!

Just painted my nails with this beautiful polish by Essie called "To Buy or Not to Buy." I absolutely love the lavender color with its hint of shimmer, but I was very disappointed with the consistency of the polish. It is very runny, and it took me 3 coats for it to no longer appear sheer. This was my first Essie nail polish purchase, and it left me quite unimpressed. I decided to give Essie another chance, and was much more satisfied with the brand after buying one of their more nude-toned polishes. Considering that Essie is so highly priced compared to other brands, I should expect nothing but great coverage, 1 or 2 coats max!

I tried taking a close-up picture of the polish so that you could see the tiny glitters, but unfortunately my camera does not do them justice. I topped my nails off with Sally Hansen's Triple Strong Advanced Gel Nail Fortifier. It really does give your nails that gel effect since it has a thicker consistency and has more durability than Sally Hansen's Hard as Nails, which I find is not very worthy of the name, since my polish chips not even a day after applying the latter to my nails.

What is your favorite nail polish for the summer? I really want to buy Essie's Bikini So Teeny, described on their website as "a sparkling, cornflower blue". . . I think it would look lovely on my toe nails!
