A skin care device that has been getting a lot of buzz in the last few years is the Foreo LUNA. I have to say I never considered trying it, because I was so set on getting a Clarisonic Mia - which I ended splurging on years ago and even shared a review on it in my first year of blogging (oh the memories)! While I used to love it, I eventually got tired of having to repurchase the brush head because let's just say it isn't the cheapest on the market. I have tried a few other facial devices since then, such as the Evoderma Noome - but again, I haven't been using it much recently since it isn't so much for cleansing but more for anti-aging purposes. When I was approached by Foreo to give their new LUNA Mini 2* device a try, I was hoping this would be THE one that would get me hooked for good - let's just say the pros outweigh the cons and I can definitely see a long term relationship flourishing...
The LUNA Mini 2 (C$159) has 8 intensities of T-sonic pulsations and is said to remove 98.5% of impurities. It fits in the palm of your hand, with the power button at the center and + and - intensity dials next to it. The device is characterized by touch-points with three skin targeting zones: soft touch-points at the front of the brush make the surface ideal to target more sensitive areas of the skin, the stiffer touch-points on the back tackle oilier areas of the skin and the front tip's touch-points allow for more precise cleansing, such as around your nose and mouth. The exterior is made out of silicone to prevent bacteria buildup (as opposed to nylon bristles which are said to be 35 times less hygienic), which means there is no need to buy a replacement brush head after a given time like is necessary with the Clarisonic. This electronic face brush is also 100% waterproof, so you can even safely use it in the shower. It pauses for a split second after every 15 seconds to remind you to move on to a different part of your face and will shut off automatically after 3 consecutive minutes to prevent overuse. The battery life is also very impressive - you only need to charge it every five months or 300 full uses (when used twice a day) and it comes with a USB charger. There are five colours to choose from: Aquamarine (aka this blue one), Fuschia, Midnight, Pearl Pink and Yellow.

Do I recommend getting this facial brush? Definitely! After using it consistently for over a month now, I think this device is much more cost-efficient than the Clarisonic - not to mention it is suitable for all skin types, more sanitary and gentle enough not to break me out. My skin feels cleaner, looks healthier and does not get irritated by the bristles' pulsations (my skin turns red quite easily, but as you saw in the video demo above this doesn't happen when using the LUNA Mini 2). One thing I would have liked to see included with the device would have been a protective or travel case to cover the touch-points since I keep my LUNA Mini 2 in my bathroom drawer and it ends up brushing up (pun intended) against others products I keep in there. Other than that, I really don't have any other complaints!
