I was on the lookout for a mineral powder since the summer heat has really been getting to my skin lately. I had heard that mineral powders are great during the hot summer months since they are lightweight and allow your pores to breathe better than liquid foundation, which can feel quite heavy on the skin. I was recommended the Laura Mercier Mineral Pressed Powder SPF 15 by my cousin who has been using it throughout the summer and let me in on its awesome staying power, and no surprise, I decided to pick one up for myself! :)
I was matched to colour Natural Beige - it is a couple of shades darker than my usually fair skin tone since I have developed a bit of a tan in the last few weeks (yay!). What I really like about this powder is that it has a SPF of 15. If you are like me and sometimes forget to apply moisturizer with SPF in it prior to doing your makeup, this will be a skin saviour!
Although it is a powder, it feels really creamy and just glides onto the skin once applied, no chalky feeling whatsoever! It is recommended to use a dense brush when applying, so I usually reach for my Real Techniques Buffing Brush (part of the Core Collection)- it really provides a nice finish, and it's quick and easy to work with. This powder provides medium coverage, but in my experience it can be built up to full coverage with the help of a little concealer under it.
The Laura Mercier Mineral Pressed Powder SPF 15 can be found at Sephora and retails for C$42.
Are you a fan of mineral powders? I plan on trying out more and I'd love to know which ones you would recommend! :)
It sounds great !

I feel like I need to invest in a good powder foundation as well. I tried out one that I had during the summer and I must say, I think I like it over wearing liquid foundation. It's light-weight and it doesnt feel like too much on since it's so hot in the summer. Sadly, I don't think Laura Mercier products are sold here. :(
